I cannot overstate my respect for Dee. We needed two things from Dee and estimated a defined period of time for delivery. We required delivery on a £13.7million indicative budget holding project working in a commissioning environment under extreme pressure and with a willing but struggling commissioner in legal measures and this needed delivering across ten very heterogenous General Practices in urban and rural environments with a wide geographical spread and markedly different delivery models and values. We also needed a governance review and more fundamentally input regarding alignment of values and the practical workings of the emerging Alliance of practices.
Dee delivered in full measure in both respects and did so in a style and manner I can only describe as humblingly impressive. Dee confided in me as chair early on that she thought she could do the work we set out for her sooner than we had allowed for. I thought that would not be possible knowing what I know about the commissioner and the practices under immense pressure in the NHS. But deliver she did and well within timescales.
With enormous integrity Dee kept me updated with just the right balance of feedback and personal initiative and worked herself out of the role several months before her contract ended having ensured succession for both the project delivery and governance aspect. I have enormous respect for this sort of directness and integrity and would not hesitate to work with Dee again or recommend her for any project delivery or transformation role in this sector.
